The festival includes a shower of poppies, a display of military standards, and an address by the Mayor of Oldham. Sombre reflection will be contrasted with military and wartime entertainment.

Standards will be on display from the armed services, veterans, Polish ex-combatants, cadets, the police, Salvation Army, and Chelsea pensioners.
